To celebrate our learning about Inventions, we had Inventor's day where kids dressed up as inventors and their whanau came along to see all their cool inventions. Room 24 made boats, planes, cars and telephones. We have had so much fun with making all our cool inventions and we would like to thank our lovely whanau for their support.

Matariki Celebrations!
Towards the end of June, Room 24 celebrated Matariki ( The Maori New Year). We learnt a new Maori waiata and dance about Matariki. We also made kites and had such a fun time flying them.
Happy Matariki everyone!
Happy Matariki everyone!
Congratulations to room 24 poets.
Thank you parents for helping your Tamariki practise their poems at home. All of the kids did really well with their poems. Most of them memorised their poems and were able to say it confidently in front of an audience. Grace Manuela won the Gold award for the Totara whanau. Well Done Grace!
Trip to Motat !
As part of our learning inquiry, Room 24 enjoyed their trip to Motat. There were so many cool inventions to see, touch and play with. Most of us enjoyed the Tram ride.

Week 4 already !!
Time flies so fast and the students have been settling in very well. They hosted the whanau assembly last Wednesday and did an amazing job. They sang Purea nei and the whanau enjoyed their special waiata. Here are the lyrics to the song :
Enjoy singing with your whanau this week and have a great weekend room 24.
| Purea nei e te hau Horoia e te ua Whitiwhitia e te raMahea ake nga poraruraruMakere ana nga here. | Scattered by the wind washed by the rain and transformed by the sun, all doubts are swept away and all restrains are cast down. |
| E rere wairua, e rere Ki nga ao o te rangi Whitiwhitia e te ra Mahea ake nga poraruraru Makere ana nga here, Makere ana nga here. | Fly O free spirit, fly to the clouds in the heavens, transformed by the sun, with all doubts swept away and all restrains cast down.Yes, all restrains are cast down. |
Enjoy singing with your whanau this week and have a great weekend room 24.
